Situated in the Environmental Art Park in Ii as part of Art Ii Biennale 2026, Forewalkers had its new form, a revisit for its 10 year aniversary.

At the center of the work is a formation of 52 walking sticks, layered with new and used materials in the spirit of the Sámi craft tradition duodji. The line formed by the sticks reflects on the movement of different borders in the landscape and time. Communicating with AiB 2026 theme Solastalgia, the work is reminiscent of colonization in the Sámi region, and at the same time is a tribute to past generations and the courage to define their own borders.
